Those no-distance relationships never work.
Being in a long distance relationship is hard. (Then again all relationships need work.) You can´t share your daily life, phone bills are high and missing the other one is continuous. Oh yes, and plane tickets take most of your salary and makes your savings account sad. I miss him mostly, when I want to share something with him - morning coffee, good talk, something I wonder, lazy Sunday morning or something that makes me laugh.
I face lot of questions and statements about being in a relationship where huge ocean separates us. Lot of people seem to think that long-distance relationships never work. Most common question is about trust - how can I trust him? I have a very simple answer: I trust him. There´s nothing else I can do. I could start worrying and questioning that, but it would be the end of our relationship. I believe that love and trust walk hand in hand.
Other question I hear a lot is how can I know him, because most of the time we are apart. How do I dare to even think about moving there, since I can´t know him well from the distance as we can´t even go for a date. I´ve never felt this close to anyone before, even we are more apart than with each other. Closeness has nothing to do with distance. Especially nowdays when keeping in touch has been made easy. We talk every day, we chat a lot, we send pictures daily (something funny, good idea we want to share, shirt I´m thinking to buy, weather, place or moment we wish to be able to share and the list is endless..) and we have Skype-dates. Yes, we have had a candlelight dinner with Skype, we have rented the same movie and watched it together and we read a lot Skype on. I <3 Skype.
What is your trick to keep a sparkle in a long-distance relationship?
P.S. I do believe that long-distance relationships can work. It needs lot of love, trust and commitment, but it can work. It´s those no-distance relationships that cannot work: http://www.gocomics.com/fminus/2012/04/01
